The School of Environmental Studies of the Polytechnic held its first webinar session titled “Built Environment Education- Creativity and Practice in the Post- COVID-19 Era” on Tuesday, 17th August, 2020 via the zoom platform.
It was a session that featured speakers in the field of Environmental studies within and outside the shores of Africa. It was noted during the session that Neuro-Evolving Robotic Operations (NERO) courses should be introduced to further enlighten students and lecturers on new technological know-how involving the environmental sector.
The webinar session further emphasized the need to use technologically-prone devices in supervising construction projects.
The Ag.Rector, Mr Olumide Metilelu noted that COVID-19 has caused distractions and it is germane as an educational institution to be creative in practice and delivery of service to humanity at large. He further noted that the importance of technology in improving the field of environmental studies cannot be overemphasized as it will go a long way to cushion the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Facilitators at the online seminar were; Architect George Akinola (President, Building Collapse Prevention Guild); Mr Lanre Bolu ( Estate Surveyor); Dr Taibat Lawanson (Director, Centre for Housing and Sustainable Development, University of Lagos); Nick Hollo (Landscape Artist and Architect); and Mr Olayemi Shonubi (Deputy President, Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors, Lagos)
LASPOTECH Trains Staff Members on ICDL Certification
The Management of the Polytechnic in its bid to enhance efficiency in the workplace and digitalise the system trained 83 staffers in computer basic skills from Monday, 17th August through Friday, 21st August, 2020 at the ICT Digital Centre, LASPOTECH, Ikorodu Campus.
The training which was tagged “International Computer Driving License (ICDL)” was a collaboration of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) ICT Merged Intervention programs.
Courses learnt at the training include; Microsoft Suits, Project Management, Cyber Security amongst others.
At the conclusion of the training, attendees will be issued two certificates; Certificate of Attendance and International Computer Driving License (ICDL) Certificate upon passing the examination.
Extension of Sale of application forms on Polytechnic website
The Polytechnic Management has approved the extension of the sale of Full- time (HND&ND) and Part-time (HND&ND) Forms.

National Diploma: Collection of Letters of Completion
All ND diplomates of the Polytechnic who wish to collect their Letters of Completion are hereby directed to make their intention known via email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Diplomates are required to provide details of their Names, Matriculation number, Department and School. The Examination and Records Unit will subsequently schedule dates for the diplomates to appear physically for collection.
