HRM Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi has reiterated his support for the Polytechnic’s aspiration of transmuting into a University of Technology that is better positioned to serve the Ikorodu Community, Lagos State and the Nation at Large.
He made this statement at a courtesy visit of the 12th Governing Council to the Palace today Thursday, 17th September, 2020.
The Oba intimated his visitors on how he made Pastor E.A Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) to pray concerning this development during the last RCCG programme held in the Polytechnic. He also advised the Governing Council and Management of the Polytechnic to speed up the process of building accommodation for the students through Build, Own and Transfer (BOT) process and also to be transparent in all their dealings.
Prof. Rasheed Kola Ojikutu, the Chairman of Council, harped his remarks on commercialization of LASPOTECH produce, creation of employment opportunities for indigenes, and peaceful co-existence on the Campuses of the Polytechnic, while he also sought the blessings of the Oba as the Council swings into full operations.
The Ag. Rector, Mr. Olumide Olusola Metilelu expressed his profound gratitude to the revered Oba for receiving the visiting team from the Polytechnic and also noted that it is important that the Council familiarize itself with the Oba to further strengthen the relationship LASPOTECH shares with the throne.
He however intimated the Palace with recent developments in the Polytechnic which include on-going completion of backlog promotion exercises, stakeholders meetings, improvement on staff welfare as well as proposed human resources/capacity development in the Polytechnic.
Present at the Palace include, Prof. Kunle Ade-Wahab, former Chairman, Governing Council of the Polytechnic; Sir (Otunba) Ayodele Elesho, Former Commissioner for Information, Lagos State; Iyalode; Baales; Members of the 12th Governing Council and Executive Management Committee.
