Metilelu Lays Foundation of the Polytechnic Perimeter Fencing

The Ag. Rector, Mr Olumide Olusola Metilelu, on Tuesday,7th July laid the foundation of the Polytechnic new Perimeter Fence at the Itamaga Itoikin Road, area of the Polytechnic. The Construction of the perimeter fence will comprise new boundary wall between the Polytechnic and the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural resources, and the reconstruction of the collapsed wall along the farm settlement area. The completion period is six (6) weeks.
The Acting Rector was in the company of other Principal Officers of the Polytechnic and the Director, Works & Services during the ceremony.

LASPOTECH on E-Learning Sensitization Virtual Lecture

On Tuesday, 7th July 2020, the Polytechnic held a virtual lecture on e-Learning Sensitization. The speakers, Mr Taofiq Olanrewaju Musa, a certified Microsoft trainer and an alumnus of the Polytechnic spoke on “Technologies and Strategies to Improve Online Learning”. During the session, he opined that Online Learning can be more difficult than physical contact teaching/learning, but noted that education now moves fast online despite Nigeria’s peculiar challenges especially considering the lack of open education resources and poor internet facilities. Mr Olu Obadina, discussed the “Effective Learners Experience on e- learning: Facilitators Responsibilities” concluded that “e-learning is a significant new digital transformation that is now a necessity”.

The Ag. Rector, Mr Metilelu Olumide during his opening address noted that the virtual sessions will encourage the growth of e-learning and improve communication between facilitators and the students. He also remarked that online platform is a new narrative for all to align with.

LASPOTECH Donates Disinfectant Tunnel and Foot Pedal to Lagos State Government

Lagos State Polytechnic in its bid to support the State Government to flatten the curve of the COVID-19 pandemic, donated Disinfectant Tunnels and Foot Pedal Hand Washing Machines to the State Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja. The Machines are to be installed at the offices of the Governor, Deputy Governor, Special Adviser on Education and that of the Head of Service.

On Friday, 3rd July 2020, one of the Disinfectant Tunnels was installed at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Lagos State Secretariat, Alausa Ikeja to demonstrate its seamless operation. According to the Ag.Rector, Mr Olumide Olusola Metilelu, additional Disinfectant Tunnel and Foot Pedal Hand Washing Machines are ready to be delivered and installed as soon as appropriate locations within the Secretariat are identified. He further intimated the members of the press during the installation of the machines that they were fully fabricated in the School of Engineering of the Polytechnic, and a full guarantee exists on their effectiveness and durability. While noting that the gesture was the Polytechnic’s Corporate Social Responsibility to fight COVID-19 pandemic in the Lagos State and the nation at large, he urged all organization to contact the Polytechnic for supplies and installations at affordable rates.

LASPOTECH Holds Fourth Webinar Lecture in one Month
Lagos State Polytechnic holds its fourth virtual lecture via the zoom platform on Thursday, 9th July, 2020. The webinar session which was titled “Post COVID-19 Pandemic Evaluation of Knowledge and Technology Transfer Partnership (KTTP): A New Agenda for Tertiary Education” was delivered by Dr. Mohammed J. Ngala, Principal Partner, Head toned Education, UK. The lecture centered on how to use research to curb the challenges confronting our nation at large. The Ag. Rector, Mr Metilelu Olumide during his opening address noted that the virtual sessions will encourage the growth of our nation and as well proffer solution to the challenges confronting
our research based learning.
