Laspotech Mourns Alhaji (Chief) Lateef Kayode Jakande

The Governing Council, Academic Board, Management, Staff, and entire students of the Lagos State Polytechnic mourns the demise of Alhaji Lateef Kayode Jakande, the first civilian Governor of Lagos State, between 1979-1983 and a former moderator of the Polytechnic who died on Thursday, 11th February, 2021.

Alhaji Jakande was a true democrat whose contribution to the growth of governance cannot be overemphasized. The giant strides recorded during his tenure in the education sector of the state remain indelible.

Alhaji Jakande was a patriot, he was a man who valued quality education at all levels, his contribution to good governance in our Nation will forever linger on.

We sympathize with the Lagos State Government, Family, and beloved ones for the irreparable loss.

We pray to God In His infinite mercy to forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest.
